Eric
Demetriades, 28 Attorney Biberaj & Snow
At
the age of 6, Eric Demetriades told his family he wanted to wear a
bow tie. So, naturally, he turned his attention to becoming a
lawyer.
With the dream now realized, Demetriades said he is enjoying his
career in criminal law. "There's no better feeling than being
in the courtroom on a daily basis," he said.
The local legal community has been taking notice of Demetriades'
acumen for fairly representing his clients. Attorney Samuel
Engle calls him "an outstanding up-and-coming attorney" and one
family calls him "first and foremost an exceptional human being."
It's giving a voice to those who are not always fairly
represented and at their low points that gives Demetriades
satisfaction. "Not every single person is their charge," he
said.
Seeing an innocent person cleared of charges also is a natural
high, he says. But it's the legal system in general that
Demetriades is most in awe of, not his own talents. "There's
something about 12 individuals choosing the outcome of a person's
future," he said. "The community gets to decide."
