At Biberaj & Snow, Buta Biberaj, Matthew Snow, and Eric Demetriades are experienced criminal defense lawyers who can provide legal  representation for all criminal violations, including misdemeanor, felony and drug offenses.  We draw upon our combined 25 years of criminal trial experience in Leesburg and Loudoun County Virginia to aggressively, professionally and successfully defend the rights of our clients, both adults and juveniles.

Anyone, even you, can be charged with a criminal offense.  It may be brought by mistake or misidentification, by your association with others, or by right.  If you believe yourself to be exposed to criminal prosecution, be it during an investigation, arrest or formal charging, you should immediately seek the assistance of an experienced attorney.  A knowledgeable attorney can counsel you through the legal process, ensure that your Constitutional rights are protected, mitigate your exposure and establish your innocence.

Criminal offenses are classified as either misdemeanors or felonies.  The distinction between them is based upon severity of possible punishment: misdemeanors are punishable by less than 1 year in jail; felonies are punishable by more than 1 year in prison.  In addition, a misdemeanor or felony is divided into one of the following classes:

Misdemeanors Felonies

Class 1: 0 - 12mos; up to $2,500 fine

Class 1: Death

Class 2: 0 - 6 mos; up to $1,000 fine

Class 2: 20yrs - Life; up to $100,000 fine

Class 3: up to $500 fine

Class 3: 5yrs - 20yrs; up to $100,000 fine

Class 4: up to $250 fine

Class 4: 2yrs - 10yrs; up to $100,000 fine

Class 5: 1yr - 10yrs; up to $2,500 fine

Class 6: 0yrs - 5yrs; up to $2,500 fine

Class "U": "unclassified" offense (misdemeanor or felony), which means the range of punishment does not fit a standard class - set by statute.
