Experience:

While attending the University of Richmond School of Law, Eric displayed his strong advocacy skills as the champion of the Mehrige Environmental Negotiation Competition and as a VTLA Trial Advocacy Competition Finalist and Regional Competitor. He also participated in many student organizations including Secretary of the Student Bar Association, Secretary of Phi Delta Phi Law Fraternity, member of the Client Counseling and Negotiation Board, and the Trial Advocacy Board.

During law school, Eric interned for the Henrico County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office. Using a 3rd year practice certification, Eric prosecuted criminal and juvenile offenses under the guidance of Henrico County prosecutors. Eric’s experience as a prosecutor enables him to assess his cases from both perspectives – prosecution and defense. He also interned at the Division of Legislative Services for the General Assembly of Virginia where he helped draft several pieces of legislation which were adopted into law.

Eric was admitted to the State Bar of Virginia in 2008 and then worked at Steptoe & Johnson, LLP, where he performed deposition briefing and litigation support.

Prior to law school, Eric interned for the Florida Department of Children and Families, North Florida Legal Service, and the law firm of Rambana & Ricci in Tallahassee, Florida.

On the criminal side of his practice, Eric handles criminal and traffic matters including DUI / DWI, Reckless Driving, Assaults, Larceny, and serious felony matters including Probation Violations, Drug Distribution, Robbery, Breaking & Entering.  Eric was also part of the team that handled the firm's most recent 1st Degree Murder case.

On the civil side of his practice, Eric handles family law matters, including divorce (contested divorce and uncontested divorce), child custody, protective orders, and juvenile law.  He also handles school disciplinary appeals, delinquency matters, and abuse & neglect cases.

Eric has received state certified training in the following areas: Virginia Indigent Defense, Advanced Indigent Defense, Representation of Children as a Guardian Ad Litem, Virginia Criminal Sentencing Guidelines, Defending Serious Traffic Crimes, Estate Planning Bootcamp, and Don't Get Iced by I.C.E., Immigration Law.

In 2009, Eric was certified as a Guardian Ad Litem for Children by the Supreme Court of Virginia.
